What is an MCP connector?
Two ways into Grok Bot
Built-in plugins. In Grok Bot, select Connect apps in the sidebar (on mobile: avatar, top left, then Connect apps), search for the app, add it, and finish the provider sign-in in your browser. Then confirm it shows under Installed. Source: Cursor help ↗
Custom MCP. There is no settings form. You tell your Bot, in chat, something like “Add this MCP server: https://…/mcp”. It confirms the details and sets it up. The endpoint must be public HTTPS. Source: Cursor forum ↗
How to read this site
Every listing on the directory shows its install method, its auth type, and a status that stays Unknown until a dated test inside Grok Bot says otherwise. Missing an app? Vote on the wishlist.

Frequently asked questions
Is an MCP connector the same as a Grok Bot plugin?
Not exactly. A plugin is a connector that Grok Bot lists in its own Connect apps catalog, so you add it with a few clicks and a sign-in. A custom MCP connector is a server you point your Bot at yourself, by telling it the URL in chat. Both give the Bot tools for an app.
Where do I paste an MCP URL in Grok Bot?
Nowhere: Grok Bot has no settings form for custom MCP servers. You tell your Bot in chat, for example “Add this MCP server: https://…/mcp”. It confirms the details and sets it up, and the tools are available from your next message.
Can I use a localhost MCP server with Grok Bot?
No. The endpoint must be public HTTPS, using streamable HTTP or SSE. A server running on your own machine at a localhost address is not reachable from the Bot, so it has to be hosted somewhere public first.
